In the science fiction novel The Tomorrow Conflict, the heroes are compelled to travel into the future in order to stop a war from breaking out in the past.
It has a terrific idea and some extremely well-choreographed, nerve-wracking action moments, but regrettably, the same cannot be said for how it uses the idea and builds a story around it.
This film’s heart and soul is Chris Pratt, who we follow as he battles these creatures from the future, most of whom are engaged in a losing struggle.
The narrative of this conflict contains a powerful and moving fatherly effect in which a character selfishly travels into the future to save his daughter from experiencing the same terrible destiny.
Although the action in this is on pace with, if not greater than Edge of Tomorrow, I would have preferred a more condensed storyline that flowed better.
In The Tomorrow War, Chris Pratt’s Dan is the main character that we follow. Although he has led a straightforward life and had a respectable teaching position, his true aptitude for physics and chemistry has gone to waste.
